And these signs will accompany those who believe:
In my name they will drive out demons;
they will speak in new tongues;
they will pick up snakes with their hands;
and when they drink deadly poison,
it will not hurt them at all;
they will place their hands on sick people,
and they will get well.
Mark 16:17-18
The people behind the videos are from a Pentecostal group of youthful Christians called Culture Shifters. Twice a week, they approach strangers on Brisbane streets with the message of Jesus Christ's healing power.
The group claims that Christ has passed hundreds of healings through their hands - including everything from cancer to multiple sclerosis.
Now, they have set out to document their results on video.
Embedded here, are some of those videos.
For skeptics, I am sure that the simplicity of this group's prayers and the joyful nature in which they approach their ministries will give the appearance of teenagers attempting youthful pranks.
But for those who have witnessed before the power of Jesus Christ to heal, I think they will have the ring of truth. They use the same simple, but powerful, procedure that has been practiced for two thousand years: laying hands on the sick with spoken prayers for the Great Healer to grant a blessing.
These young people do not seem to be promoting themselves. Their focus is on Jesus. They also do not seem to have any monetary motivations. I have no doubt that, though the physical healings are memorable, the Spiritual healings that are accomplished are far more important.
More videos can be found on YouTube by using the key words "Brisbane miracles."
May God bless their efforts.
COMPLETELY PREDICTABLE UPDATE: Love, humility and truth are good indicators of God's mysterious actions on earth, and these attributes seem to mark the ministry of the Culture Shifters. However, God's miracle workers never march forward, unopposed. A REPORT claims that Culture Shifters have received death threats. The article also quotes a medical ethics professor who says faith healing claims are "outlandish" and "based on absolutely no evidence whatsoever." Perhaps this "ethics" professor does not understand the word "evidence." When the lame can suddenly walk, the deaf can suddenly hear and the blind can suddenly see, THAT IS EVIDENCE. More likely, however, is that he considers bald face lying "ethical."
He has blinded their eyes
and deadened their hearts,
so they can neither see with their eyes,
nor understand with their hearts...
